How much does Jungian analysis cost?
In New York, the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association publishes three fee bands for its analysts: $100–150, $150–200, and $200 and above a session. Analysts in the US who publish fees on their own websites charge $225–250. Low-fee clinics start at about $50 a session in New York, and one London scheme charges £40 or less.
Most analysts do not publish fees at all, so the only figures on this page are ones we can point to. Each comes from a society roster, a clinic's own page or an analyst's own website, and the table below says which.
What listed analysts publish
| Country | Published fees | Listings with a fee | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canada | C$160 a session | 1 of 76 | analysts' own websites |
| United Kingdom | £130 a session | 1 of 128 | analysts' own websites |
| United States | from $100 a session | 54 of 431 | analysts' own websites; JPA fee categories |
How often, and what a year costs
Analysis usually means at least one session a week, and often more. Some reduced-fee schemes require more: the Association of Jungian Analysts' scheme with trainees asks for three sessions a week for at least two years.
As arithmetic only: one session a week for 46 weeks costs $9,200 a year at $200 a session, or $4,600 at $100. Twice a week doubles that. Ask each analyst about their fee, how often they suggest meeting, and whether they charge for missed sessions and holidays.
